Privacy Policy

1. Controller and contact

1.1 Sunrise Swell Ventures LLC, a Texas limited liability company trading as Resume Insite ("Resume Insite"), with a business address at 5900 Balcones Drive STE 100, Austin, Texas 78731, determines the purposes and means of the processing described in this policy.

1.2 All privacy inquiries and rights requests shall be directed to hello@resumeinsite.com.

2. Categories of information collected

2.1 Identifiers and contact data. Name, email address, any backup email address added to an account, and the domain name requested, where supplied.

2.2 Content submitted by the individual. Resumes, curricula vitae, portfolios, writing samples, photographs, video, promotional codes, referral codes and free-text instructions submitted through the order form. Such documents commonly contain additional personal information, including telephone numbers, postal addresses, employment history and educational history. Resume Insite receives only the content the individual elects to submit.

2.3 Account information. Where a client signs in to the client account at resumeinsite.com/account, Resume Insite records the time of each sign-in, a description of the device and browser derived from the browser's identification string, the internet protocol address, and a record of security events such as sign-ins, changes of email address and sign-outs. Sign-in links, sign-in codes and session identifiers are stored only as one-way hashes. No password is collected or stored.

2.4 Sign in with Google. Where a client elects to sign in with a Google account, Resume Insite receives from Google LLC the unique identifier of that Google account, its email address, whether that address has been verified, and the name on the account. Resume Insite does not receive the Google password or access to any other Google data.

2.5 Answers and change requests. Answers to questions about the client's website, change requests, and any files attached to them, together with the date and status of each.

2.6 Technical data. The internet protocol address from which an order or form is submitted, retained with the record for fraud prevention and abuse mitigation, together with server logs maintained by the hosting provider in the ordinary course.

2.7 Transaction data. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Resume Insite does not receive, process or store complete payment card numbers. Resume Insite receives the email address associated with the payment, the transaction amount and status, and the brand and final four digits of the payment card.

2.8 Consent records. The date and time at which the individual confirmed that they are 18 or older and accepted the Terms of Service, this policy and the automatic renewal of hosting.

2.9 Referral and partner data. The name and email address of a person who holds a referral or partner code, the orders placed with that code, and, for partners paid in cash, the amounts paid.

2.10 Business contact data. The name, job title and work email address of individuals at universities, associations and other organizations whom Resume Insite contacts about the service, taken from those organizations' public websites, together with any correspondence.

2.11 Resume Insite does not acquire personal information from data brokers, and does not engage in cross-site or cross-application tracking.

3. Purposes of processing

3.1 Personal information is processed for the following purposes only:

• design, development, hosting and maintenance of the individual's website;
• registration and administration of the associated domain name;
• provision of the client account, including sign-in, account recovery and the security of the account;
• processing of payments, receipts, renewals, refunds and referral rewards;
• service communications concerning orders, the account, the website and subscription renewals;
• business communications with organizations about the service, as described in clause 3.5;
• security, fraud prevention and maintenance of service integrity;
• compliance with legal, accounting and tax obligations.

3.2 Content identified by the individual as not for publication shall not be published on the website.

3.3 Resume Insite does not publish, reference or otherwise use client websites, client names or client materials for marketing or promotional purposes. Demonstration sites shown on resumeinsite.com depict fictional individuals.

3.4 Automated drafting. Resume Insite uses an artificial intelligence model provided by Anthropic, PBC to prepare the first draft of a client's website from the Materials the client submits. Every draft is reviewed and edited by Resume Insite before it is shown to the client or published. No decision producing legal or similarly significant effects for the individual is made by automated means.

3.5 Resume Insite does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Resume Insite does not send marketing email to clients or members of the public who have not requested it. Resume Insite may email individuals at organizations, at their published work addresses, about the service. Every such email identifies Resume Insite, states its postal address and explains how to stop further email, and a request to stop is honored permanently.

4. Disclosure to service providers

4.1 Personal information is disclosed only to the service providers necessary for the operation of the service, and only for that purpose:

• Hostinger International Limited, hosting of resumeinsite.com, its database and submitted files on servers located in the United States, and email services;
• Stripe, Inc., payment processing, subscription billing and the related fraud prevention;
• Cloudflare, Inc., domain name system services, hosting and storage of client websites, and Cloudflare Turnstile on certain forms to distinguish people from automated submissions;
• Anthropic, PBC, preparation of the first draft of a client website from the submitted Materials, under commercial terms that do not permit Anthropic to use that content to train its models;
• Google LLC, only where the individual elects to sign in with a Google account;
• Porkbun LLC or another applicable domain registrar, registration and administration of domain names.

4.2 Personal information may be disclosed where required by applicable law, legal process or governmental request, or where necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Resume Insite, its clients or the public.

4.3 In the event of a merger, acquisition or transfer of the business, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the terms of this policy.

5. Storage and security

5.1 Submitted files are stored on hosting infrastructure located in the United States, in a directory outside the public web root, with file system permissions restricting access to the service account. Files are additionally transmitted to the Resume Insite administrative mailbox as email attachments. Access is limited to the personnel of Sunrise Swell Ventures LLC who operate the service.

5.2 The website is served over HTTPS with HTTP Strict Transport Security enabled. Uploads are validated by file type and size. Payment card data does not transit Resume Insite systems. Account sign-in uses single-use links and codes that expire after 15 minutes, and repeated failed attempts are blocked.

5.3 A client website shown for review before publication is available only through a private, signed link sent to the client.

5.4 No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure, and no absolute guarantee of security is given. Resume Insite shall notify affected individuals of any security breach affecting their personal information in accordance with applicable law.

6. Retention

6.1 Orders for which payment is not completed, and the files submitted with them, are deleted 90 days after submission.

6.2 Files and account information belonging to active clients are retained for the duration of the hosting subscription, such retention being necessary to perform the service.

6.3 Following cancellation, client files are retained for 90 days and thereafter deleted.

6.4 Completed change requests, and any files submitted with them, are deleted 90 days after completion.

6.5 Unused or expired sign-in links and codes are deleted within one day of expiry. Session records are deleted 30 days after they expire or are signed out. Device records are deleted after 13 months without a sign-in, and the record of security events after 13 months. Account recovery requests are deleted 90 days after they are decided.

6.6 Page view statistics, which are aggregate counts and contain no personal information beyond the daily hashes described in clause 7.5, are retained for 13 months.

6.7 Transaction, tax and consent records are retained for the period required by applicable law. Such records do not include the documents submitted by the individual.

6.8 Business contact data is retained while correspondence continues and for no longer than 24 months after the last contact, except that the address of an individual who asked not to be contacted is retained for the sole purpose of honoring that request.

6.9 Earlier deletion shall be effected on request, except to the extent the information remains necessary to provide a service the individual continues to receive, or to comply with a legal obligation.

7. Cookies and local storage

7.1 No advertising cookies, tracking cookies or third-party analytics services are used on this website. The cookies described below are strictly necessary for the functions the individual uses. A notice on the first visit to resumeinsite.com states this and links to this clause; its dismissal is remembered in the browser's local storage, not in a cookie. Fonts are served from resumeinsite.com itself, and no request is made to a third party to display a page, except the payment and form checks described in clauses 7.3 and 7.4.

7.2 The following cookies are set by resumeinsite.com:

• a session cookie on the order, referral and contact forms, used to limit repeated automated submissions, which expires when the browser is closed;
• __Host-ri_acct, which keeps a client signed in to the account, for 12 hours or, where the client chooses to stay signed in, 30 days;
• __Host-ri_dev, a random device identifier used to list signed-in devices and to send an alert when a new device signs in, which expires after 12 months;
• __Host-ri_pending, __Host-ri_form, __Host-ri_flash and __Host-ri_goog, which carry a sign-in in progress, protect account forms against forgery, display a one-time message, and protect a Google sign-in in progress, each for no longer than the step it serves and at most 24 hours.

7.3 The payment step of the order form loads Stripe.js from Stripe, Inc., which sets cookies used by Stripe for fraud prevention. Those cookies are governed by Stripe's privacy policy.

7.4 Certain forms load Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes information about the browser to distinguish people from automated submissions and sets no advertising cookies.

7.5 Resume Insite operates its own page view counter on its own servers. For each page view it records the page address, the referring website's host name, and the date. No cookie is set and no identifier is stored in the browser. The visitor's internet protocol address and browser identification are combined with a random value that is generated daily and discarded when the day ends, and reduced to a one-way hash for the sole purpose of counting distinct visitors on that day. Neither the address nor the hash is retained in a form that permits recognition of a visitor across days, and no data is transmitted to any third party. Page view counting is not performed where the browser transmits a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

7.6 A draft of the order form may be retained in the browser's local session storage on the individual's own device to prevent loss of entered data. That draft remains on the device and is not transmitted to Resume Insite as a separate record.

7.7 Client websites hosted by Resume Insite carry no analytics and serve their fonts and files from the website itself. A published client website sets no cookies. A private preview link sets one cookie, ri_preview, for 24 hours, so that the preview continues to open as the client moves between its pages.

8. Individual rights

8.1 Subject to applicable law, an individual may request: confirmation of whether personal information is held; access to that information; a portable copy of it; correction of inaccurate information; deletion of the information; and cessation of non-essential communications.

8.2 A client may download a copy of the information held in the client account, and may request deletion of the account and the associated data, from the Account and security page of the client account at resumeinsite.com/account. Any individual may submit a request by email to hello@resumeinsite.com. Requests shall be answered within 45 days of receipt. That period may be extended once where reasonably necessary, in which case the individual shall be notified within the initial period.

8.3 On deletion, Resume Insite deletes the account, the website and the files the individual submitted, and confirms the deletion by email. A client with an active hosting subscription should first cancel it under the Terms of Service. Records that the law requires Resume Insite to keep, such as payment records, are retained under clause 6.7.

8.4 Verification of identity may be required before information is disclosed or deleted. No fee shall be charged for a request, and no individual shall receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.

8.5 An individual who considers a request to have been handled improperly may appeal by written notice to the address in clause 1.2. The appeal shall be determined within 45 days and the decision communicated in writing.

9. Children

9.1 The service is intended for individuals aged 18 and over, and each client confirms at the time of order that they are 18 or older. Resume Insite does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Any such information identified shall be deleted, and notification to hello@resumeinsite.com is requested.

10. Amendments

10.1 This policy may be amended. The effective date at the head of this document indicates the date of the current version. Where an amendment materially affects the processing of personal information already held, affected individuals shall be notified by email.
