What exactly do I get?

A personal website at your own domain, built around your resume. It presents your work the way you would want it introduced, holds a clean downloadable copy of your resume, and works properly on a phone as well as a desktop. You also get the domain itself, registered and pointed for you, with the first year included.

How long does it take?

You get a draft link within 72 hours on weekdays. From there we revise until you are happy with it, which usually takes a day or two more depending on how quickly you send feedback.

What do you need from me?

Your resume or CV, and about three minutes on the order form. Anything else is optional: a headshot, a portfolio, writing samples, links to your work, or notes about how you want to come across. The more you send, the less guessing we do.

How do I pay?

You do not pay on this site and you never type card details into it. Once you place your order we read it, then email you an invoice you can pay by card. Work starts once that clears.

If you were given a promo code, put it in the box on the order form and we apply it before invoicing, so the amount you are asked for is already the discounted one.

What happens when I get the job?

Congratulations, and that is exactly why the terms are short. A job hunt ends, so your hosting should be able to end with it. Let the term run out and the site comes down, with no cancellation fee, no notice period, and no conversation where somebody tries to talk you out of it. We hand the domain over to you on the way out.

A lot of people keep it running instead. Once you are not job hunting it stops being a job hunt page and becomes your page, which is useful for the next time, and for anyone who searches your name in between.

Which term should I pick?

Three months if you are already interviewing and expect this to be over quickly. Six months if you are not sure, which covers most job hunts. Twelve months if you want to keep the site after you land, since it works out cheapest per month.

Who owns my domain?

We register and hold it while you are subscribed, so you never have to deal with a registrar or remember a renewal date. We say that plainly rather than burying it, because it is your name on that domain and you should know who is holding it. If you cancel, we transfer it to you and you take over the renewal from there.

Can I use a domain I already own?

Yes. Say so in the notes on the order form and we will point your existing domain at the site instead of registering a new one. You keep it exactly as it is, in your own registrar account.

Is this just a template with my name on it?

No, and that is the entire point of the service. An engineer, a new graduate, and an artist need different things in front of a recruiter, so they do not get the same layout with the words swapped. The site is built around what you actually have to show.

What if I do not like the design?

Tell us and we change it. Revisions are part of the build fee, not an extra, and we would rather go back and forth a few times than put something live that you are not proud to send.

Do you write the content for me?

We edit and shape what you send so it reads well on a screen, which is a different job from reading well on paper. We will not invent experience you do not have or inflate what you did. If something is unclear we ask you rather than guess.

Do I need to know anything technical?

No. There is no dashboard to learn, no builder to fight with, and nothing to install. When something needs changing you email us and we change it, which is the main reason people stay subscribed.

What happens to the files I upload?

They are used to build your site and nothing else. They are never sold, shared, or published anywhere you did not ask for, and anything you do not want on the public site simply does not go on it.
